Description:

As offiicial licensee of Thunderbirds Art Programme we invited Des Taylor, our most favourite Watford based comic book artist, haha!

He has yet again delivered a his stunning re-imagining of our favourite heroes.

In this portrait Taylor has given Scott and Virgil a real comic-book treatment. We love the new uniforms and the manly good looks! I'd like them to protect me, know what I mean???? (-Emma in the office)

This edition is signed by Des and is hand numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity

The best thing about being Art You Grew Up With is having access to artwork and artists that we think are the best in the business. Des Taylor is one of those. He has had a successful career as a graphic designer whilst honing his skills in his first passion: Comic Art. History plays itself out like this: Desmond JC Taylor Jnr, (already a Hollywood name) formed his personality and skills in the London borough of Tottenham, where, in a "boy done good" storyline, ploughed his way through school and onto an Art Foundation Course at the College of North East London . At West Herts College he graduated in Graphic Design where he exercised his skills and forged his style using fashion design, comics, and a love of vintage as smorgasbord of inspiration. In 2005 Des created a character called Katie Rogers, a fictional English born publicist working in Manhattan. Her adventures had attracted a large fan-base over a short time period which lead to a graphic novel being published in 2006. A new story is being worked on currently called The Infamous Katie Rogers for release in 2012. Vesha Valentine, Taylor's latest protagonist, is a modern tale of a metoric rise and fall of a hollywood starlet. The episodes in Vesha's life are played out beautifully by Des whose love of the glamour era of the 40s and 50s are morphed into the fantastic wardrobe that he gives the characters. Renowned Jeweller, Theo Fennell's store window was the origin for Vesha as Taylor had designed the christmas display for the store using Pin-Up girls as the theme. The graphic novel was published last year and was voted number 10 in the Top 25 Small Press graphic Novels by Diamond Distributers, an accolade as the comic is an independent title and the battle for recognition is very tough...
