The master of light and magic, John Alvin's artwork will be familiar to us all, even if we don't recognise his name.

Alvin was the creator of many of our most favourite and loved film posters, with titles such as:

Blade Runner, Aladdin, Blazing Saddles, Gremlins, Batman films, The Colour Purple to name but a few.

Alvin also had a long running relationship with Lucasfilm, where he created cover artwork for video/ dvd releases of the Star Wars films.

Here is a painting from the John Alvin archive. Mr Fett is a great example of the style that Alvin used and his most well known trait: the lens flare.
