Paddington first appeared on television in 1975 in a series of five minute programmes which were designed and directed by Ivor Wood and made in the UK by FilmFair Ltd.

The films were made using a stop-start animation technique and were unusual in that they combined a three-dimensional Paddington puppet with two-dimensional backgrounds and other characters. All 56 episodes were narrated using the wonderfully distinctive voice of Sir Michael Hordern.

The process of Animation is often a collaborative effort. The evidence of this can often be seen in the long credits at the end of most animated shorts and films.

Whilst only the most talented and skilled artisans would be employed by the studios, it is often difficult to attribute the corresponding artist to the exact piece of artwork we offer.
