As the official licensees of the Mr Men & Little Miss Art Programme we are very excited to announce the launch of this stunning new edition and exhibition of the Art of Mr Men. To commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Mr Men & Little Miss and the launch of two new books, Mr Birthday & Little Miss Birthday we celebrated this birthday milestone with Egmont, the Mr Men publishers, at our exclusive book launch and private view on the 3rd of April. Keep an eye open for coverage of this event in the press and on television as this was the birthday party to go to!

This book scene edition has been chosen by Adam Hargreaves, son of Roger Hargreaves and the now author of the Mr Men and Little Miss books, as one of his fondest memories of his fathers work. The edition was then created from the original art used in the creation of the seminal books. It is limited to just 200 editions worldwide and features some of not just Adam’s but our favourite characters as well. Charles Roger Hargreaves (9 May 1935 – 11 September 1988) was an English author and illustrator of children's books, notably the Mr. Men and Little Miss series, intended for very young readers. He is Britain's third best-selling author, having sold more than 100 million books.

Hargreaves’s first Mr. Men book came when his son asked him what a tickle is, leading to the creation of Mr. Tickle in 1971. Since, Hargreaves has produced 46 Mr. Men books and 33 Little Miss books, including Mr. Bump, Mr. Uppity, and Little Miss Sunshine.

Roger passed away in 1988, but his son Adam continued writing and drawing Mr. Men and Little Miss characters with new stories.

We at The Animation Art Gallery have a strong bond with Mr. Men and it's authors. Adam Hargreaves joined us in the gallery to celebrate the 35th birthday of Mr. Men. See pictures and more about the event here.

Mr. Men began with the creation of Mr. Tickle in 1971. There are a total of 46 Mr. Men and 33 Little Miss stories. Each Mr. Men and Little Miss story introduces a new character with a dominant trait, which ultimately tells a moral lesson.
