NEW PROJECT, COLLABORATIONS, AND BIG COFFEE POTS

OK 1ST BIT OF NEWS ....

I got me a big brand spanking new 12 cup coffee perculator yeaaaahhhh !

Now the important bits...

The drawing presented here is a bit of unused study that we thought you might

like to see. It is from an upcoming project that we are involved in here at The Animation Art Gallery ... it was created by my talented and verging on the genius senior assistant Luke Finlayson who drew the blue line pencil

I then took the blue line and inked it...

This really gave me pause for thought as i usually do most of this stuff myself and am used to inking my own stuff. its always a welcome challenge and a responsibility to ink somone elses work.

And for all you Chasing Amy fans out there ... NO it is NOT tracing!

It just got me to thinking about the principles involved in working in comics, animation and movies / games etc.

One of the greatest challenges that I set the students I teach on the Masterclass course is that they have to be really responsible to one another, especially on the advanced course.

Comics and other mediums of this type are dependant on the teamwork, attitude and respect foreach others abilities that each individual brings to the party.

There is nothing worse than seeing the pencil work you created destroyed by heavy handed and lazy inking or linework created by pencillers and inkers, made to look dead and lifeless by bad colouring.

Everyone in the proccess from the writer to the letterer, the graphic designer or the coffee boy all contribute in a big way and no one should be taken for granted ...

AND IN MY ESTIMATION THE COFFEE BOY KEEPS US ALL RUNNING LIKE  CLOCKWORK .
