Peter Firmin is a co-founder of Smallfilms. Along with his parter Oliver Postgate, the duo produced a number of popular children’s TV programmes such as Ivor The Engine, Clangers, and Bagpuss.

Ivor the Engine was the first children’s animation produced by Smallfilms. Using stop motion techniques, Smallfilms’s Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin told the tale of a green locomotive living in Wales.
